Sa

SaAn Egyptian word signifying the Ethereal Body or Soul of the incarnated Spirit, which is called Psyche in Greek or Anima in Latin. This Sa or Sahu functions as the seat of the Ba (Persona complex), which is the manifested consciousness of the incarnated Khu (Spirit), and maintains the Fila from the Ba to the Khu. The Sa recedes from the body upon death, most often leaving the Ba as a Shade. In advanced Adepts, the Sa can become a Genius or even a Deified Genius. See also Membra Animae.
