The Anima Mundi, or World Soul, is the matrix of all life-energy of the planet Earth. All physical life is born from Her, and to Her it returns. She is a living being, and all life forms make up Her body in the same way that cells make up one’s own body. For just as cells can not thrive and reproduce outside of the matrix of the body, so too is it for life whose matrix is Gaia Herself. The principles of Natura, which govern the manifestation of Heka, are given to all life by Gaia so that Bounty may ensue. Nuit has endless incarnations in various bodies throughout the Universe, one of which is Gaia. In this way Gaia is the Soul, the incarnated Spirit energy of Nuit, having been born into the body of the planet itself. This is why Gaia is called Anima Mundi, the World Soul, and also why Nuit says in Liber Legis I,53 "This shall regenerate the world, the little world my sister, my heart & my tongue, unto whom I send this kiss." The heart and tongue here signify the Anima and Vox of Gaia, respectively. Gaia is also the Mother of the important beings, now demonized and forgotten, known collectively as the Titans.
